Quick templates

Replace your current list?

This pack includes a starter list. You can keep your names and only change the look.

What can this random picker do?

swheel turns any line-by-line list into a visual random picker. Add people for a name draw, numbers for a raffle, tasks for a team, or choices for a decision. Every active entry becomes a visible slice, so the group can watch the result instead of trusting a hidden selection box.

Pick a name

Paste one name per line and spin. Turn on Remove winner when you need presentation order, classroom turns or several prize winners without repeats.

Draw a number from 1-100

Open the number wheel for ready-made 1–10, 1–50 and 1–100 lists. You can edit the range, remove each result, and keep the draw history on screen.

Pick teams and winners

Use the team picker for a visible draft order or the prize wheel for a giveaway. Weighted entries such as Alex [2x] are included, but use them only when your published rules allow bonus chances.

How to spin in 3 steps

  1. Paste your entries

Add one item per line. Shuffle, sort or remove duplicates before the draw.

  2. Choose the rules

Set the spin time, theme, sound, weights and whether the winner leaves the wheel.

  3. Spin and save the result

Click Spin or press Space. The Results panel records each winner; share the wheel only when you are comfortable putting its entries in a link.

Fair, private random selection

The wheel uses window.crypto.getRandomValues() from the browser’s W3C Web Cryptography API to seed each selection. The animation makes the draw visible; it does not upload your list to a swheel account. Equal active entries are designed to receive equal chances, while an explicit weight changes the matching slice and probability. For regulated contests, lotteries or prizes with legal requirements, use an independently audited drawing process and follow the rules in your jurisdiction.

Not wheelofnames.com or Google

The product focuses on local browser storage, free weighted entries and simple share/embed controls. Detailed comparisons are available on wheel of names alternatives.

Frequently asked questions

What is a spin-the-wheel picker?

A spin-the-wheel picker turns a list of names, numbers or choices into visible slices and selects one at random when the wheel stops.

Can I spin numbers from 1 to 100?

Yes. Open the number wheel and load the 1–100 preset. You can also use 1–10, 1–50 or a custom range.

How do I pick names without repeats?

Turn on Remove winner after spin. Each selected entry leaves the active wheel, while the Results panel keeps the draw order.

Can I give one entry more chances?

Yes. Add a weight after the entry, such as Alex [2x]. The wheel gives that entry twice the chance of an unweighted entry.

Does swheel upload my list?

The wheel runs in your browser and saves the current list in local storage on that device. A share link contains the entries in the URL, so treat that link as a copy of your list.

Can I share or embed a wheel?

Yes. Copy a share link or the iframe embed code. Review the list first and do not share private student or participant data publicly.

Is swheel affiliated with wheelofnames.com or Google?

No. swheel is an independent tool and is not affiliated with wheelofnames.com or Google.
